1) Evening Advice Sessions (EAS)
Immigration Law Advice
RAILS provides free immigration law advice every Monday and Wednesday evening. The EAS are staffed by volunteer migration agents with staff support. The EAS advices are checked by RAILS day staff who may contact clients if further follow up is required or if a decision is made to allocate the client’s matter to a RAILS day-time caseworker.
The EAS are held at RAILS: Level 1-170 Boundary Street, West End.

2) General Law Clinics
Family Law Clinics:
In partnership with Legal Aid Qld, Rails offers fortnightly general advice clinics on Family Law for information on matters including divorce, child custody and property settlement. Clinics are conducted every second Friday (day times) at RAILS office and are by APPOINTMENT Only (0738 469 300)
Employment Law Clinics:
In partnership with TressCox Lawyers, RAILS offers monthly employment advice clinics for information including Unfair dismissal, pay disputes and workplace harassment. Clinics are conducted on the last Wednesday of the month (evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm) and are by appointment.
3) Telephone advice for people living in regional areas
RAILS staff provide weekly telephone advice for people living in regional areas on Monday and Thursday between 2-4pm. Bookings by appointment only. Phone 07 3846 9333 at any time.
ADVICE AND CASEWORK
1) Domestic violence provisions legal advice and assistance
RAILS staff provide advice and casework assistance for people subject to domestic violence who are applying for a permanent partner visa in Australia. Bookings by appointment only. Phone 07 3846 9300 at any time. For agency referrals see the Domestic Violence agency referral form.
2) Protection Visas Legal advice and assistance
RAILS staff provide face to face advice every Tuesday about possible protection visa claims. RAILS Principal Solicitor will decide whether RAILS can provide ongoing casework assistance to the client. 3) Refugee Family Reunion advice and assistance
RAILS staff provide advice and assistance to refugee minors (under 18 years old) proposing their parents and the parents’ dependent children; refugees proposing their immediate family (spouse, dependent child, fiancee); and orphan relatives.
Clients of the Multicultural Development Association (MDA) and ACCESS Inc (Logan) should attend the RAILS advice and assistance clinics offered to clients of these organisations on a weekly basis. RAILS also conducts a monthly advice clinic at Access Ipswich.
Other clients should attend the Evening Advice Sessions held at RAILS every Monday and Wednesday (see above for further information about the EAS and how to make an appointment).
Unaccompanied minors (under 18 years old) will be prioritized at EAS appointments by RAILS administrative staff.
