Councillor Jonnathan Sri, Brisbane City Council Jonno is a Brisbane City Councillor for the Gabba Ward, which includes the suburb of West End where the RAILS office is located. Many of Councillor Sri's relatives left Sri Lanka as refugees due to the civil war. He is a fierce advocate for the rights of refugees and migrant workers, and prior to becoming and elected representative he worked with teenage asylum seekers in frontline settlement support services. Jonathan supports direct action anti-racism campaigns for refugee rights, alongside his advocacy on local issues ranging from homelessness and housing affordability to sustainable transport planning.
