LAW AND POLICY REFORM

RAILS engages in law and policy reform in key areas, including protection visas, applications under the domestic violence provisions of the Migration Regulations, refugee family reunion, and others.  RAILS also provides media comment on certain matters in the interests of our clients.  Media queries should be made to the Director, Greg Mackay, at greg.mackay@rails.org.au .

Pro Bono Refugee Law and Practice

RAILS recently co-hosted (with the Queensland Bar Association and Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House) a forum on pro bono refugee law and practice, attended by over 80 members of the legal profession.

Changes to the family violence provisions

By letter dated 15 July 2012, the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship  invited our comment on the proposed amendments to the family violence provisions in the Migration Regulations 1994.

Refugee and Immigration National Community Law Coalition (RAINCLC)
