The Community Support Program brings together Australian supporters, community groups, and businesses in helping someone in humanitarian need start a new life in Australia.
Through the Community Support Program (CSP), Australian citizens or permanent residents can sponsor people known to them or others to come to Australia.
We advise and represent people who wish to apply to CSP through our partnerships with two different Approved Proposing Organisations, Illawarra Multicultural Services (IMS) in New South Wales, and Multicultural Development Australia (MDA) in Queensland.
If you wish to sponsor someone to come to Australia under CSP, there are some things that you need to consider:
- The main applicant needs to be aged between 18 and 50 years old at the time of the application.
- The main applicant needs to have an offer of employment to work in Australia upon their arrival.
- The main applicant needs to have functional English language skills.
- The Australian supporter needs to be able to prove that they can provide the person with support, including financial support, upon their arrival in Australia.
If you would like to sponsor someone to come to Australia under CSP, you can contact Multicultural Development Australia (MDA) if you live in Queensland, or Illawarra Multicultural Services (IMS) if you live in New South Wales.
