De-regulation of migration agent lawyers

With the passing of the Migration Amendment (Regulation of Migration Agents) Act 2020 from 23 March 2021, most lawyers will no longer have to be registered as migration agents to do migration work.

In this webinar collaboration with CLCQ, RAILS Principal Solicitor Kylie McGrath explores issues arising from the end of dual regulation and the opportunities for humanitarian and other migration law practice emerging from the reform. The webinar also provides an overview of key areas of migration law impacting the most disempowered asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.

The webinar provides 1.5 CPD points for lawyers (substantive law) and 1 Category B CPD point for migration agents.
