Support
for Migrant Women in Regional Queensland
Rails works together with other lawyers, refugee workers,
court assistance workers, social workers and other domestic violence
support workers in Queensland to assist women who are able to access
the domestic violence provisions of the Migration Regulations or
one of the other exceptions, to obtain permanent residence.
The following information will assist migrant women
on temporary visas in regional Queensland, who have experienced
relationship breakdown with their sponsoring partner, in particular
where there has been domestic violence.
Information Sheets
Information Sheets about different areas of immigration
law can be downloaded from the RAILS
library, by regional community workers and people needing immigration
information.
Other Legal Information
RAILS also has a range of web based information about
immigration law on other pages of this
site.

The RAILS regional immigration advice project is currently
funded by Legal Aid Queensland adn the Ian Potter Foundation until

for provision of immigration legal advice and assistance to clients
in regional Queensland.
Please contact the project worker, Joanna Cull, on
07 3846 3189 if you would like to discuss the project further. You
can also find out
about the project via this web site.
The Regional
Brochure provides information about services currently available
for regional clients. Please contact Joanna Cull if you work in
regional Queensland and would like a hard copy of the brochure for
distribution.
