What if your TPV expires before DIMA makes a decision about your FPV application?

TPV’s are valid for 36 months.

If
• you have applied for a Further Protection Visa, and
• you are still waiting for a final decision to be made on this application, and
• your 36 months have expired

you will be granted another visa called the XC visa. This visa gives you the same rights and liabilities as the TPV did, but there is no expiry date on this visa. The XC visa will expire when DIMA makes a final decision on your FPV application.
