Subclass 447
Secondary Movement Offshore Entry (Temporary) (Subclass
447)
This is a temporary protection visa valid for 3 years, and one can
apply for successive temporary protection visas every three years
after this, unless the Minister allows a permanent refugee visa
application to be made.
This visa does not give the right to government settlement

It is a single entry visa, meaning that if the visa
holder leaves Australia, he or she will not be allowed to return
to it.
The first subclass 447 visa can only be granted if
you are outside Australia.
This visa is for people who:
- Arrived in an "excised offshore place" (such as Christmas Island,

and
- suffered persecution or substantial discrimination, amounting
to gross violation of human rights, in their home country; or
are women suffering persecution or registered by the UNHCR as
being of concern
