Emergency Rescue (Subclass 203)

This permanent residency visa gives the right to settlement services, welfare system, family reunion and a right to return to Australia if the visa holder leaves. This is a visa for people who:

  • Suffer persecution in their home country and are still living there or in another country and can prove they are in immediate danger and there are extremely urgent reasons for granting the visa. (These visas are not given very often.)
    or
  • Are close family members (spouses, fiances, interdependent partners, dependent or adopted children) of an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has been given an Emergency Rescue visa.
