Refugee (Subclass 200)

This permanent residency visa gives the right to settlement services, welfare system, family reunion and right of return to Australia if they leave. This is a visa for people who:

  • Suffered persecution in their home country and are not living there, and since leaving have not spent more than 7 days in a country where they could have obtained protection.
    or
  • Are close family members (spouses, fiances, interdependent partners, dependent or adopted children) of an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has been given a Refugee Visa, and are being proposed for the visa by that person
